Summary/objective:
- The Diesel Technician is responsible for efficiently diagnosing, repairing and maintaining various types of agriculture and construction equipment for our customers and the dealership.
Essential functions:
- Trouble Shooting & Diagnosing: Use your skills to identify failures in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel systems and confirm repairs for equipment and recommend service for continued equipment reliability.
- Repairing & Confirming: Complete and verify repairs in an efficient manner on equipment to customer satisfaction.
- Meeting and Exceeding: Continuously perform quality service work and attain collectable efficiency, billable efficiency, labor sales, and rework goals.
- Documenting and Submitting: Complete work orders and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborating & Communicating: Consistently focusing on how we all succeed and seek ways to communicate, work together, to generate expected results.
- Being Safe & Train: Maintain a clean and safe working environment and continually improve and learn in ways that strengthen our performance and expand opportunities.

- Thorough knowledge and reliable skills to diagnose electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel systems failures and ability to comprehend and interpret technical service manuals and schematics.
- Ability to safely operate diagnosing equipment, hand and power tools, vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment efficiently.
- Consistently meet expected service goals (Labor Sales, Billing Efficiency, Collectible Efficiency, Rework)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to achieve common goals across departments, locations and teams.
- Proficient in using a laptop computer and navigating online systems and portals.

Work environment:
- Most of the work will be completed inside a well-ventilated shop. At times, the shop will be noisy. Some work may be performed outside.
Physical demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing bending, sitting, lifting, and driving.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds as required.
Position type and expected hours of work: .
- Full-time permanent Seasonal hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm and some Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm. Off season hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and some Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm. Overtime is common.
Travel:
- Daily travel to and from customers resident as needed. Travel is local at time with some travel being regional.
Required education and experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Certificate or Associates of Applied Science in Diesel Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in diagnosing and repairing agricultural and construction equipment required.
- Previous experience in agriculture is highly desired.
